Yesterday was National Chinchilla Day and the GSPCA team wanted to share some great news.
Nicolle Morgan GSPCA Animal Care Assistant said “23rd March is the official day to show some love for chinchillas, and we are very happy to say our chinchilla, Pipo is officially reserved!!!!”
“After months of waiting through isolation and lockdown, he finally met his new mum today and she is smitten! Who wouldn't be?!”
“He will be greatly missed by our staff but we cannot wait to see him off to his forever home!”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We have a wide range of animals come in for all sorts of reasons and it is always a joyous occasion when we can find those in need a loving new home.”
“Pipo is a real character and although we rarely see chichillas, due to there special needs it has taken some time to find him a forever home, but as Nicolle said yesterday he was reserved which is fabulous news especially as it was National Chinchilla Day.”
“Pipo is our only chinchilla but we have lots of other animals ready for homes from fish to guinea pigs, rabbits to ferrets, fish to birds degus to mush turtles, many others and a few older cats.”
