Over the October Half Term the GSPCA held a series of Special themed Spooky Guided Tours and what a wonderful week we had.
Each afternoon at 2pm hords of children dressed in Halloween outfits and even some parents met at the front of the GSPCA ready for their Special Tour.
Each of the tours involved a Halloween themed quiz and those taken part got to see creepy crawlies up close to our tarantula ‘Webster’, learnt about the bats we care for to meeting hundreds of the animals in our care.
The tour concluded where the reptiles are kept and the answers were given along with medals for all the efforts made in their fancy dress and the quiz.
The next part of the afternoon was the Spooky Treasure Hunt. The children had to enter a very dark scary room filled with creepy crawlies and cobwebs to find Halloween cards to win prizes.
After the children were laden with prizes they all got a Halloween Certificate and were thanked for their support.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We had a great time during Half Term with our Spooky Halloween Guided Tours, Quiz and Treasure Hunts.”
“We raised over £500 and we want to thank all that supported these great fun and educational events.”
“Our next tours are at Christmas and the next themed tour will be at Easter, but don’t forget we do run Special and Birthday tours for those looking for a unique experience.”
Beckie Bailey GSPCA Animal Care Assistant said “There were so many wonderful Halloween outfits the children wore at the tours and the children had so much fun.”
“We are so grateful to all that supported our tours and for those that don’t know we do have areas of the Shelter open for a donation 7 days a week between 11am and 4pm.”
We have now planned our tours all the way into 2020 once again with some special tours for the children. You can also book a tour for a special event or birthday. For details on special tours please see below.
