Last month on Wednesday 22nd November the GSPCA has a visit all the way from the Netherlands.
Laura Quist who works at the Dierentehuis rescue was on holiday in Guernsey when she contacted the GSPCA, who were delighted to invite her in and make overseas connections.
The GSPCA are members of a number of overseas organisations including the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes which Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager is also a Trustee for and they we are also a member of the EU Dog and Cat Alliance.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “It was lovely to show Laura from Dierentehuis around the GSPCA and chat to her about what she does and show and talk to her about our 24/7 work.”
“It was fascinating to learn about what goes on in animal welfare in the Netherlands and Laura really enjoyed seeing the diverse role we take in Guernsey and she hopes to visit again soon.”

“I enjoyed the tour very much and found it very interesting and inspiring to see and hear how GSPCA deals with the big variety of animal species and the challenges that come with it, I must admit: I do not envy you.”

Steve continued “From chatting about the international animal welfare world to the training opportunities we shared lots of information with Laura.”
“We are currently planning our festive guided tours so please watch online for your chance to have a look around.”
