Last month on Friday 23rd January the GSPCA has a visit all the way from Paris.
Annika Lähdeniemi who is the President of l'École du Chat de Clichy in France and also a SNIP International Trustee was on holiday in Guernsey visiting family when she contacted the GSPCA, who were delighted to invite her in and make overseas connections.
The GSPCA are members of a number of overseas organisations including the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes which Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager up until recently was also a Trustee for over 9 years and still has volunteer roles with them and we are also a member of the EU Dog and Cat Alliance.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “It was lovely to show Annika from l'École du Chat de Clichy in France and also a SNIP International around the GSPCA and chat to her about what she does and show and talk to her about our 24/7 work.”
“It was fascinating to learn about what goes on in animal welfare in Paris and the other international work she does and Annika really enjoyed seeing the diverse role we take in Guernsey and especially discuss the differing builds we have as l'École du Chat de Clichy are looking at their facilities.”
“Its been many years since seeing Annika at an International Animal Welfare Conference and so lovely to catch up.”

Steve continued “From chatting about the international animal welfare world to the training opportunities we shared lots of information with Annika.”
“We are currently awaiting the final tenders for our BIG BUILD as well as getting ready from the Swimarathon so lots going on as always.”
“The Summer tours we held were very well supported and we hope to run our next tours in the October half term with more details to follow.”
