Today is #WorldWildlifeDay and with over 3000 wild animals through the GSPCA doors every year we need your support with our proposed new Wildlife Hospital and wildlife in our care, as well as the other builds but with Wildlife the theme we want to highlight this much needed facility.

It’s really easy to donate by going to

The much needed facility is planned to replace a number of old buildings some which date back to the 1940’s.

The GSPCA have been removing asbestos from those buildings being taken down to make way for the new builds and preparing for the challenging times ahead as we still have to operate while the build takes place.

With nearly £1,500,000 pledged or raised currently there is still a long way to the expected £3,500,00 required to build the GSPCA Wildlife Hospital, kennels and other facilities as well as disposing of the old buildings and preparing the ground.

There are a number of ways you can help donate to this much needed project –

With 2 seals just released this weekend and currently at the GSPCA 100’s of wild animals, hedgehogs and birds the GSPCA is extremely busy and moving well into the busiest time of the year.

The new Wildlife Hospital will help house over 3000 wild animals and birds each year and with our natural environment a major concern a facility that would help benefit future generations.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Today is #WorldWildlifeDay and we help over 3000 wild animals through our doors at the GSPCA every year.”

“With 2 seal pups just released, nearly 100 hedgehogs in our care, many wild birds and others our facilities are always full with Guernsey wildlife that are found sick or injured.”

“There are many ways to support our Wildlife Hospital from a donation to buying a brick.”

“Roar and California Girl were likely the last two seal pups in our current pools.”

“We have been busy preparing for the #BIGBUILD creating areas so we can carry on our 24/7 work.”

“We have removed the asbestos from the old buildings and very excited to announce we will very soon start the #BIGGESTBUILD in our 152 year history which will include the first Wildlife Hospital in the Channel Islands.”

“If anyone would like to know more or support our wildlife hospital in any way please do give us a call on 257261 or email [email protected] .”
