The pup which the team have nick named 'Sami' as we believe he may be a she has been receiving around the clock treatments and intensive care.
In the last few days the pup has been making some progress with feeding.
Geoff George GSPCA Animal Collection Officer and main marine mammal carer said "Sami is doing well but still has a very long way to go."
"Yesterday we started adding liquidized fish to her tube feed.
"Sami is still being tube fed every 3 hours and has responded well so far."
"This morning Sami the seal took the first whole fish and we are all doing everything we can to help this very poorly pup."
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "The team have been working around the clock to help Royston who we have nick named Sami as we think he is a she."
"Sami has a long way to go yet and we are appealing for donations towards the many fish she will need to keep her going with her rehabilitation and of course the heating and other treatments."
"The team are working around the clock to help Sami and to donate to her care please check out the many ways online, calling 257261 or to the Shelter."
"There is still a chance seal pups may be found around our coast sick or injured so please do keep a watchful eye out."

For advice on what to do if you see a seal pup -
If anyone see's a pup with or without a mum we really do appreciate a call so that we are aware of its location and condition but here is some advice.
A healthy pup looks like a big, stuffed maggot without a neck. However, a thin pup looks sleek (but not bony) and has a visible neck, like a healthy dog.
PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE SEAL. They can give a nasty bite, which will become infected by bacteria that live in a seal’s mouths.
Note: Do not allow dogs or other animals to harass a seal.
If a Seal is scared back into the water, it could then be washed out to sea by strong currents and be lost. You should not put a seal pup back in the sea as it may get into difficulty.
If a Seal pup is sick, thin or injured then we would ask you to contact the GSPCA immediately on 01481 257261 day or night
When reporting an injured, sick or abandoned seal to the GSPCA, please make sure you are able to supply the following information:

Caution:- Handling of any animal either domestic, wild, dead or alive may be potentially hazardous. Obvious dangers include bites, scratches and general hygiene issues.
