We are pleased to report that despite Jessie being let out of the trap on Wednesday morning she has remained along the west coast with reports, sightings and GSPCA team members tracking her up until late last night.
As at 11am we have had two reports confirming her location very near the trap, and GSPCA team members monitored her last night feeding next to it although extremely wary and unsure.
Saying this she did sit quite happily about 10 yards from the trap for a short period of time and enjoyed eating the food provided although many other animals and birds were doing the same.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "It's now been two nights since Jessie escaped from the trap after being let out and it is fantastic to know she is staying near to the trap as it helps with her capture and builds her confidence in the most humane way of catching her."
"We are considering other measures to catch Jessie and if anyone knows a hire company that could lend us some harris fencing or large fishing netting we would really appreciate it."
"Also if anyone would like to purchase and donate any dog catching equipment MDC exports have an excellent range."
"We have had a number of reports of people chasing and following her and from the GSPCA please do not do this as it will not help us catch her safely and will put her at further risk as she is more likely to run from the area she is happy in."
"Any sightings of Jessie please call us on 257261 and although we cannot catch her on foot it is good to know her whereabouts."
"If you find her in your garden and you can trap her in or you have a garden she is sleeping in and we could use temporary fencing to help catch her please do get in touch."
Please see below for advice on what to do if you see Jessie.
GSPCA relaunch capture for Jessie after her release from the trap this morning whilst on route to collect...

We are working closely with Jessie's owners to help in the search of their dog and we all appreciate the wonderful public support and reports so far.
We would like to highlight that Jessie is a very nervous and timid beagle cross who has only recently been adopted from a UK rescue and is scared by people and loud noises.
She is an 8 year old, female, white and brindle beagle cross with no collar.
If you do spot Jessie please call us at the GSPCA on 01481 257261
Please do not approach or try to catch her as it is likely to scare her away and not help with her safe capture.
If she is in a secure area where you can close a gate or door then please do so and give us a call at the Shelter immediately.
With all reports the time, location and direction of movement is extremely important.
If you are able to get a picture or video clip this would really help.
At the GSPCA we have team members at the end of a phone and manning our ambulance 24 hours a day.
We are doing everything we possibly can and our team are on stand by to help in the safe capture.
There is a reward for her safe return of £200.
To call the GSPCA please ring 01481 257261 and if you have any pictures please email them to [email protected]
We continue to help in the search of Bertie the stray schnauzer that went missing in November last year, but sadly we have had no reports in some time but if you see him please follow the same advice as above.
