The GSPCA are asking for your help.
Now with two grey seal pups in our care we need your support in feeding these beautiful mammals.
Jethou Bumblebee who was rescued in November 2012 from Jethou and Hanois who was found in Pleinmont on Saturday are doing well but with Jethou Bumblebee eating 20 mackerel or herring a day and Hanois being weaned on to fish these grey seal pups need your help.
The GSPCA are looking to bulk buy the fish and if you would like to donate to the 'BIG FISH APPEAL' you can do so over the phone by calling 01481 257261, popping iinto the Shelter or on the paypal link below and please reference 'BIG FISH APPEAL'.
To see the story of Jethou Bumblebee please check out this short video from start to finish on how staff rescued him with a lot of help.
Today we are pleased to say that Jethou Bumblebee has been for his first swim on our pool at the GSPCA. Although keen for the fish he wasn't to keen at first jumping into the pool but once in he had a fantastic time.
Jethou Bumblebee will be allowed out onto the pool for longer periods each day to acclimatise him ready for his release in the spring.
Jethou Bumblebee has doubled his weight and doing well.
Geoff George Animal Collection Officer was pleased to say 'He wasn't keen at first coming out but with a couple of fish he made his own way to the pool and dived straight in.'
'He had a lovely time and it was great to see.'
'The best part was how long he could hold his breath for and this training will set him in good stead for when we release him.'
Here is a short video of Jethou Bumblebees first time in the pool.
