Lamar loves his cat grass - A continued thank you to those supporting our Wish List

Lamar would like to thank the very kind person that has provided him with his cat grass from our Wish List.
We have had another fantastic week of gifts from waterproof cameras to take pictures of the animals to meal worms for the hedgehogs and birds.
You can see all of the items that we are looking for by going to our Amazon Wish List but don't forget many of the items can be purchased locally and donated to the Shelter.

Every day the GSPCA faces challenges and to keep up with the many demands we are always looking at ways in which we can ensure we can look after the 200 to 300 animals in our care.
We never know quite what we will need to rescue or care for and that means at the Shelter we are always looking for support and equipment.
Towards the end of last year we launched an Amazon Wish List with the very smallest of items that we need to the very largest.
Since launching the Amazon Wish List nearly every week something has arrived to help us rescue and care for the many animals that come through our doors.
From animal feed to bowls, nets to panels to protect animal pens from the elements we are extremely grateful to all those that have supported us.
We have received thousands of pounds worth of equipment and feed which help make a difference every day.

'Last week we needed a new net for the Ambulance Drivers and on Friday one arrived.'
'A thank you must go out to everyone that has bought the Shelter and the animals something through our Amazon Wish List.'
Sarah Ozanne Animal Care Assistant and Ambulance Driver 'We've had all sorts though our Amazon Wish List from honey for the hedgehogs to this lovely net.'
'We never know what we are going to get but from the single bowls at 90p to the large items we really do appreciate everything that arrives as it all helps.'
'Our biggest wish is to build a new Cattery and Quarantine Block and we are always appealing for support towards this but every item really makes a difference.'
The GSPCA always needs a variety of toys, equipment and feed which we occasionally source from Amazon due to the very economical prices. The following are events planned for 2013
Every Tuesday during term time between 10.30am and 12pm at the GSPCA we have a coffee morning with bric-a-brac and pet supplies on sale (free entry) also guided tours at £5 per person minimum donation available at 11am. Please click here for more details

14th - 15th August 2013 West Show GSPCA Stall - volunteers needed to help with the stand
17th August Donkey Derby GSPCA Stall - volunteers needed to help with the stand
21st - 22nd August 2013 North Show GSPCA stall - volunteers needed to help with the stand
GSPCA Flag Day August 24th - we are looking for volunteers to help make this the biggest and best flag day the GSPCA has held
Sunday 25th August - Vale Earth Fair - volunteers needed to help with the stand
Wednesday 3rd September 6.30pm - Volunteer Induction Evening - to be held at the Shelter, more details to follow
