On Saturday the GSPCA teamed up with the South Show in St Martins.
Held in St Martins Community Centre and the field next door this annual event brings together islanders, families, visitors and their dogs.
This year as it was such a warm day the GSPCA took extra precautions and placed over a dozen gazebos around the field with plenty of water and joined gazebos together to provide additional shade.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We had a wonderful day at the South Show on Saturday but it was very warm and sunny.”
“Due to the warm weather we put up a dozen gazebos including an extra large one to judge the show so it could be held in the shade.”
“We also combined a few of the classes so the dogs weren’t out for too long.”
“We met some amazing dogs and wonderful owners all who had a lot of fun in the sun and mostly in the shade.”
“Between our stall and the Fun Dog Show we raised nearly £250 and really enjoyed the day.”
“The winner of the Best in Show 2024 as well as the Best Rescue was a lovely rescue greyhound called Wallace with his owner Hannah.”
“The furthest travelled was Balu all the way from Italy on his holidays.”
“This week we are at the West Show and next week at the North so do pop along and say hello.”
