New hands on Animal Care Course at the GSPCA with WEA

Once again the GSPCA have teamed up with the WEA to provide a course in animal care.
The new course is an 'Introduction to Animal Care and Welfare' and gives a taste of working in the many different departments at the GSPCA whilst learning about animal care, behaviour and a hands on experience.
The course is a 2 day workshop and for those taking part we would kindly ask that you have a basic knowledge in animal care.
The main topics covered and experienced will be:
Dog walking and handling in a kennel environment
Working with animals in a kennel
Cat behaviour and socialising in a cattery
Working with animals in a cattery
Animal accommodation, handling and cleaning
Wildlife and small animal care
The course takes place on Saturday and Sunday the 21st and 22nd November between 8am and 4pm and costs £60.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We have run a number of courses with the WEA and each have proved a great success."
"Many of those attended have shown an interest in a more hands on training session and this is the first of its kind at the GSPCA."
"From working in the wildlife unit to kennels, new cattery to the rabbit areas it will be a very varied two days."
"If we see a good interest we will certainly hold further sessions next year."
