Not the Easter Bunny, it's an Easter stray turkey - stray turkey rescued in St Martins on Easter Sunday

After the BIGGEST ever GSPCA event on Easter Sunday a call came into our GSPCA emergency line not for what you would expect such as an Easter bunny but instead for a Christmas turkey.

A stray turkey had been spotted in St Martins and GSPCA Ambulance Warden had to rescue the bird while many around Guernsey enjoyed their Easter Eggs.

The bird is doing very well at the GSPCA and we are currently appealing for the owner to come forward.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "After we had packed up at the hugely successful Easter Egg Hunt and Event at Rue Mainguy Activity Centre last week a call came in for a stray turkey in the St Martins area."

"It was the last thing we thought would be called in on an Easter Sunday but 'Sneeky' as the bird has been named is doing very well and we are appealing for an owner to come forward and to please call us on 01481 257261."

"It was a fantastic day last Sunday with hundreds of children and a huge thanks to Island FM, Regency Bedding, Outdoor Guernsey, CT Plus and all that made it such a wonderful day."

"We help one or two stray turkeys each year but this is the first ever Easter turkey we have rescued."
