Harley the staffy has been at the GSPCA for just over a month looking for a home so spent her Christmas at the GSPCA.
This very sweet, loving dog has stolen the hearts of the staff and volunteers and indeed everyone she meets.
Earlier this week Harley visited Isabelle Vets for a spay check to ensure she was neutered.
All of Harleys health checks since her arrival showed a healthy staffy but when she went to the vets and was put under anesthetic they found a very angry, rapid growing growth an one of her legs.
The lump has been removed and she is now on treatment and the lump has been sent for testing and the GSPCA are appealing for donations towards her care.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Harley is such a lovely dog it was very upsetting for us all at the GSPCA when we found out she had an aggressive lump appear on one of her legs.”
“We all have our fingers and toes crossed for Harley and we are appealing for donations for help with her operation and care which is likely to cost over £1200.”
“We are hoping the removal of the lump will have prevented it spreading further and we are awaiting tests.”
Lorna Prince GSPCA Animal Welfare Manager said “Harley is a lively, happy staff who loves belly rubs and company.”
“We have been trying to find someone special for her but while she is undergoing her vet care we would just ask those interested to express their interest by completing a Dog Application Form.”
Seb Goma GSPCA Animal care Assistant said “All the team think the world of Harley and we are doing all we can for her.”
“Harley has been at the Shelter since before Christmas and on the day we made sure she had a very special time.”
“We all love Harley very much and would really appreciate any donations towards her care.”
Steve continued “We recently had Ellie who needed a life saving operation and she is now in a new home thanks to the Vets for their care, the GSPCA team and of course all those that donated to help with her operation.”
“With over 500 animals in our care we have many others seeing the vet from a cat who was has a serious leg injury to the 4 seal pups and every penny helps us care for and often save these very poorly animals lives.”
