Please Vote for GSPCA Team Member Sarah Langlois in the Customer Service award, sponsored by DWA.

The GSPCA is a much- loved animal rescue service on the island and employee Sarah takes a kind and compassionate attitude towards fellow staff, the public and the animals in its care.

‘Just her whole attitude towards work and the public is amazing,’ her nominator said, who wishes to remain anonymous.

Sarah has been working at the GSPCA for nearly eight years and loves every part the job brings working on reception and on call.

She cracks on with whatever help is needed and supports others around her.

‘I wasn’t expecting it at all,’ Sarah said of her nomination.

‘Seeing any sick animal being released back into the wild is the most rewarding thing,’ she added.

Being hands on with the animals is her favourite part of the job.

‘She has a huge heart and compassion for her job, people and animals,’ her nominator said.

'It does not matter to Sarah if it is a good day or bad day, she always brings her best attitude to the job.'

THE GSPCA Animal Shelter has been nominated for the Pride of Guernsey 2023 Emergency Hero of the Year award, sponsored by MSG.

The GSPCA is the island’s main animal rescue centre, helping every type of animal day and night from birds to seals, from hedgehogs to cats.

The GSPCA has been active on the island for 150 years.

Over all those years the animal rescue service has been dedicated to helping the animals and the community.

‘Without the GSPCA the wildlife would be a lot worse and much less diverse,’ its nominator said, who wishes to remain anonymous.

‘We’re very pleased and proud, we do what we can,’ the shelter said in response.

The team at the GSPCA works together seven days a week to make sure every animal gets the care it deserves.

‘The GSPCA impacts the island whether it’s learning about animals or sending messages out about animal welfare,’ said the nomination.

The huge number of 'heroes' who work at the GSPCA 'has created an organisation unlike any other'.

Both staff and volunteers do a fantastic job everyday with every animal.

‘It’s a magical place really,’ the shelter said.

'The GSPCA is a lovely place to work, full of animals and incredible staff.

‘The impact of the GSPCA affects everyone, even if they don’t know.’
