Poppy the grey seal pup growing stronger each day - can you help donate to her care at the GSPCA

On Monday a 2 to 3 day old grey seal pup with no mum in site was rescued in Alderney.

Poppy as she has been called is responding well to treatment and has made it through her second night at the GSPCA.

Already there are signs of her losing her white coat and we continue to do all we can to ensure she survives.

Yesterday John Knight local vet and GSPCA President popped in to check her over and was pleased with her progress and condition.

Geoff George GSPCA Anaimal Collection Officer and main carer for Poppy said "Poppy is doing very well although I continue to help ensure she is cared for around the clock at the GSPCA."

"Poppy has responded well with the rehydraton fluids and will soon be on a fish soup."

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We are so pleased we have got Poppy through her first two nights at the GSPCA."

"With her being only days old we continue to do all we can for her and we are appealing for donations towards her care for heating, veterinary treatment and the many fish she will soon need."
