We are pleased to report that both Sami and Jonathan the grey seal pups continue to improve at the GSPCA.
Both seal pups were rescued and transported to Guernsey by the wonderful volunteers in Jersey from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue with the very kind help from those at Blue Islands and both airport staff.
Sami and Jonathan arrived extremely weak, dehydrated and with a variety of ailments and have needed around the clock 24/7 care which has been headed up up GSPCA staff member Geoff George who is a real star at the Shelter and is a finalist in the Specsaver Unsung Hero Award and he needs your vote - http://unsunghero.submarine.gg/Default.aspx

Geoff George GSPCA Animal Collection Officer and head marine medic at the GSPCA said "Sami is doing extremely well as she has been with us much longer, but we are really pleased with Jonathan who is looking so much better"
"They will need months of care and donations are really appreciated to help look after Sami and Jonathan which has been around the clock job."
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We are all doing what we can to help Sami and Jonathan and we are so pleased to see them improve each day although both have a long way to go yet."
"Geoff George heads up the care of the seal pups and has worked for the GSPCA for over 20 years and we would all love to see him recognised for his amazing work and are asking for everyone to help vote for him in the Specsavers Unsung Hero Award which closes for votes on Tuesday."
"Geoff has helped dozens of seal pups over the years, dolphins, turtles, and so many pets they number in the tens of thousands and to go with these so many owners and members of public that he has been called out to help."
"Now that we have them eating fish we really need donations to help with their care as Geoff and the team increase their feed each day so that both seal pups can gain the much needed weight to be released back to the wild."
"Just £5 will help us feed the seal pups each day and we really do appreciate all of the support they have already had."
"A great way to help the seal pups and all of the other animals in our care is to join in with GSPCA Purple Week from the 10th February and we'd love to hear from you if you'd like to do something."
"We will of course keep you up to date how both Sami and Jonathon the seal pups are getting along at the GSPCA."
