On Saturday the 9th March the GSPCA will be holding a bric-a-brac sale, coffee morning and guided tours due to demand.
A number of islanders have been asking that we hold a weekend event to enable them to have a look around and see the two seal pups through the one way glass before they are released back to the wild next month.
The day will start at 9.15am with the first tour being at 9.30am. We are asking for a minimum donation of £5 per person for the tour and we require at least one adult per 6 children.
Entry to the Bric-a-brac sale and coffee room is free, although donations are welcomed to help towards food for our seals Hanois and Jethou Bumblebee as well as the other 200 animals and birds in our care.
Tours will take place at 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am and the last at 12.30pm. Each tour takes between 40 and 50 minutes and depending on numbers we may have to split groups.
To ensure that you get a place at the time you wish to attend please call 01481 257261 to make an advance booking and you can pay by card over the phone.
The tours include a tour of the Shelter and a chance to see the hundreds of animals in our care as part of the GSPCA 140th celebrations.
The tours will start and finish in the Event and Training Room where there will be food and drink on sale as well as a selection of donated and new goods on sale and includes a few childrens games.
The day is set to finish at 1.30pm and we look forward seeing you on Saturday 9th March. This is the first time the Shelter has had two seals at the same time, rehabilitated them and will release them very soon after this event in local waters, so make sure you see them before they go back to the wild.
Tours are also available each Tuesday at 11am as part of our Tuesday Coffee mornings and bric-a-brac sale at £5 minimum donation per person.
