Yesterday the GSPCA welcomed Janetta Harvey a writer and Trustee from Schnauzerfest for a tour.
Janetta was in Guernsey for a Schnauzer Sponsored Walk which was held on Saturday at Pleinmont and saw 40 Schnauzers of all shapes and sizes get together.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager and ADCH Trustee said “Yesterday it was wonderful to welcome Janetta from Schnauzerfest who help Schnauzers across the UK and are also members of the association of Dogs and Cats Homes.”
“It was so nice to find out all that Schnauzerfest do to help dogs and support other animal welfare charities as well as how well the Sponsored Dog Walk went on Saturday.”
“Janetta really enjoyed her tour especially meeting Popeye the Barn Owl and many of the other animals in our care.”
Janetta Harvey commented on Instagram saying “Thank you for your time, it was wonderful seeing in person what the centre does and will do in future with the wildlife hospital. I have loved my visit to the island and will be back one day I am sure, not least for another @schnauzerfestuk walk ????.”
Steve continued “We rarely see Schnauzers needing homes at the GSPCA, but we do have a few that Board with us in our Boarding Kennels.”
“Saying that if you are looking to adopt a dog or any animal from the GSPCA please do complete an application form to register your interest.”
