430am Saturday morning 3 staff and one volunteer were queuing outside the White Hart as the sun rose to start the 38.5mile Itex Walk around Guernsey.
The GSPCA team were made up of Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager, Geoff George Animal Collection Officer, Tony Gallie Animal Care Assistant and Natalie Randall Volunteer Warden.

Last week a concerned member of public spotted a trio of Grey Silkies wandering around the Vale Castle area.
The birds were quite nervous and wasn't able to catch them so called in the GSPCA to assist.
Geoff George the GSPCA Animal Collection Officer attended the seen a number of times last week before he finally managed to catch them.
Safe and sound now at the Shelter they are doing well and there is a home already lined up for them.
Despite the recent snow and inclement weather the GSPCA are already seeing signs of Spring.
From guinea pigs to pregnant cats there has already been birth's at the Shelter and yesterday we received our first chicks of 2013.
Buck and Trout two young pigeons which were rescued from a work site are now being hand fed by staff and volunteers at the GSPCA Animal Shelter.
Prance the turkey who was found just before Christmas as well as Connie and Polly two chickens that were found and brought in as injured strays have today been rehomed. Also Evy joined them who is a little bantam that was found a a little chick wandering the streets. She is now a young bird will join a group of her own kind. Staff waved them off with smiles on their faces.
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Care Assistant said 'It's fantastic when we get to see our rescue animals find new homes.' 'That is why we are here and we wish them all the best in their new life.'
How cute is the now named baby chick Sandra? Literally only days old little Sandra was found yesterday in the South East of the island walking around with no mum in site.
Now in the GSPCA care we will look after and rear her until she is of an age to find a new home. Sandra has asked us to let everyone know that she would like to update you on her developments and how she grows.
