Last night the GSPCA held the first bingo night of 2015 at the Market Bistro.
To help celebrate Australia Day, it was held with an Australian theme with a giant kangaroo calling out the numbers.
Last year the GSPCA held 5 bingo evenings and we have a total of 11 planned for 2015 and the first one last night started off with a great attendance and even attracted a crowd of Australians who wanted to celebrate their National day.
The event was held in the Inner Market Building where tables of 10 to two were set up for those attending.
Australian banners, flags and posters decorated the room, as well as information and posters of the work of the GSPCA and animals in need of homes.
Each table was named after an animal that the GSPCA has either recently helped or in the care of the Shelter, many of which are in need of new homes.
A total of 8 games of bingo were played with lots of other games and raffles. Half way through the evening the team at the Market Bistro served an Australian themed buffet.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager and event organisor said "We had a fabulous Australian Day Bingo fund raiser for the GSPCA last night at the Market Bistro."

"There were prizes for the first line and house of each of the 5 games and the winner of the jackpot of £50 kindly donated it back to the GSPCA which was wonderful."

"Each night we decorate the inner Market Building and always encourage fancy dress and a musical instrument."
