The GSPCA would like to thank MENFUN for inviting us to join them last Sunday with their Car Boot Sale in the Alliance Car Park.
We also have to thank all the brave sellers that supported the event on what was a very windy and occasionally showery day.
Steve Byrne and Helen Holmes from the GSPCA took a stall down with a selection of goods, bric-a-brac and clothes.
The event raised £150 for the GSPCA and MENFUN also raised funds for their very worthy cause which you can find out more below.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'Despite some sunny spells it was certainly very windy on Sunday and we had some heavy down pours, but despite this we had a great turn out for the event.'
'A huge thank you must go to MENFUN for inviting us to join them and also to everyone that supported the event.'
'We raised for the GSPCA an amazing £150 which we are extremely grateful for everyone that was involved.'
'The other great thing Helen and I got to see were many of the dogs rehomed from the Shelter and we know some will be along to our Fun Dog Show on the 1st June at Fairfields.'
'We have two more Car Boots this year one with Homemaker Co-op on the 22nd June and another with MENFUN onSunday 12th October.'

MENFUN has been helping local people with learning difficulties to go on holidays or take part in leisure activities. As we all know, a holiday is not only something we enjoy for days, but we also look forward to it for months and remember it for years.
For those with learning difficulties it is especially important to have the stimulation of a break from the daily routine. The cost of travelling from this island unfortunately prohibits this from being possible for many.
This is where MENFUN help by contributing towards these costs. Each year MENFUN help many local people whether living at home or within residential care have a break, be it an activity holiday or for the elderly a quiet break away in Jersey. For those more able there is boating on the English canals or the delights of Disneyland Paris.
MENFUN have also donated wheelchairs and vehicles so people are able to get out and about in the island, such as a trip to town which most of us would take for granted.
It is with your help that MENFUN will keep going for many more years, or as long as MENFUN are needed. If you have time to spare MENFUN would welcome your help.
