Recently the GSPCA Manager popped along to Normandie Health and Safety to learn and undertake the IOSH Working Safely training course.
Health and safety being an essential skill set for us all in this modern world the GSPCA as like every charity and employer have obligations to those that work, volunteer, visit and anyone that comes into contact with our 24/7 work.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Last month I attended the IOSH Working Safely training course at Normandie Health and Safety.”
“With over 50 staff, 800 volunteers, tens of thousands of visitors and the many events we attend and run health and safety is hugely important to the GSPCA both for the care of all those we come into contact and of course the 1000’s of animals.”
“Every staff member and volunteer has a thorough induction process but we can always further our skills and thanks to a kind discount I was lucky enough to spend a day with Nick Scholfield to undertake the accredited IOSH Working Safely course which included an exam which I passed thankfully with full marks.”
“It covered a huge range of health and safety topics and is well worth attending whether you are new to running an organisations health and safety or like myself with nearly 30 years experience.”
