Last Friday was part of the GSPCA Purple Week and our 141st anniversary.

Around the island people were fund raising to help the many animals at the GSPCA.

St Andrews Primary got involved with the purple theme and also had a mufti day.

Not only did they raise £183 for the Shelter they also invited GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne along to do a talk.

Steve took along a few friends from the Shelter including Mable the chicken, Alan the rabbit and Toby the terrier.

Steve Byrne said 'It was great talking to all the children about what we do at the GSPCA and where the money raised will go and how it helps.'

'Many of the children at St Andrews had bought GSPCA wrist bands and as it was the GSPCAs birthday we all sang Happy Birthday to the GSPCA.'

'A huge thank you to all at St Andrews Primary for raising such a fantastic amount.'

'Thank you to everyone that got involved with the GSPCA Purple Week we really do appreciate it and every penny makes a huge difference to animals lives here in Guernsey.'

The current fund raiser at the Shelter is our Open Days and Bric-a-Brac sales which is on all this week between 10.30am and 4.30pm in our training and event room.

Also on Friday Sarah Creasey spent the afternoon talking to St Sampsons High School.

Both Sarah and Steve had their faces painted as part of the GSPCA Purple Week. Claire Ozanne kindly gave up some of her day to paint the GSPCA teams faces as part of the GSPCA Purple Week.
