Anna Paint Senior Animal Care Assistant said "I love working in the cattery at the GSPCA and we see so many cats as strays, neglected, unwanted and in need."
"There are lots of ways you can help us celebrate National Cat Day from joining our Spooky Halloween Tours for the kids to spreading the word of cats in need of homes."
"You can now visit the cats 7 days a week for a donation of £2 each between 11am and 4pm so even if you aren't looking at adopting a cat you can see those in need."
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "From lost and found, to stray and unwanted, abandoned to welfare calls, road traffic accidents to ferals, microchipping to temporary care we help well over 1000 cats each year at the GSPCA."
"It is estimated that there are between 8000 and 10,000 cats in Guernsey, so each year that is around 1 in 8 cats that at the GSPCA we help."
"There are many ways to celebrate cats with us this week for National Cat Day and we would like to thank the Guernsey Press and all the sponsors for the recent edition in the paper yesterday."
