Olivia the loggerhead turtle continues her rehabilitation at the GSPCA in St Andrews.
Rescued last Wednesday she had a further check with Vet John Knight today.
Still very weak after her ordeal the team at the GSPCA continue to slowly raise her body temperature and treat her under the advice of the vet.
Not only did Olivia get to see the vet today she also got the chance of a little dip in a small pool with warmed water which she appeared to appreciate.
Geoff George Animal Collection Officer said "On the advice of the vet we placed Olivia the loggerhead turtle in a pool with warmed water for a short period today and she seemed to appreciate the experience."
"We are working closely with the vet to do everything we can for Olivia who is still very weak."
"We are gradually increasing her body temperature and continue to take each day as it goes."
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "Thankfully with all the vet checks so far other than the ordeal Olivia has been through, emaciation, cold temperature and small injuries we have thankfully not found anything of major concern."
"We'd like to thank everyone who has donated towards her care so far it is really appreciated."
"Between Olivia the turtle, Bonnie the seal pup and the other 300 animals in our care we are being kept very busy at the GSPCA and Spring hasn't even started."
"We continue to do everything we can for Olivia and will of course keep you updated."
