UPDATE On Starsky the Sark feral cat needing an operation

Starsky is a feral cat from Sark who will soon be back home under the care on an islander but has needed a lot of TLC.

Here is an update from Anna Paint Senior Animal Care Assistant at the GSPCA “Just an update on Starsky the feral cat from Sark.”

“We did an appeal recently for Starsky who had severe entropion in both of his eyes.”

“Entropion is when the eyelids curl inwards which causes the eyes to be continuously rubbed by the eye lashes, if left untreated this would of caused the eyes to become ulcerated, infected and off course very painful.”

“Starsky has done very well after his operation and his eyes are healing brilliantly, operations like this are never taken lightly when the cat is feral , due to the healing time and we weigh up each situation individually.”

“Starsky has been assessed daily for signs of stress and measures have been put in place to help him cope during his time with us.”

“He will soon be able to return to Sark and carry on living his life pain free.”

“Starsky will be monitored and fed by a lovely gentleman over there who managed to trap him and bring him to us in the first place.”

“I’m sure Starsky would love to thank everyone who has donated towards his operation.”
