We are pleased to report that all six seal pups are doing well and improving daily.
In fact when there is a break in the weather we are hoping to release Marty the grey seal pup back in Jersey where he was rescued.
The weather however is playing havoc with the fresh fish we require for the seal pups and despite deliveries in bulk with the sustained bad weather we have had recently our stock is starting to run low.
The GSPCA is currently appealing for fish caught in the last 3 months, ideally herring or mackerel but any whole sea fish would be much appreciated.

Geoff George Head of Marine Mammals at the GSPCA said “All six seal pups are doing very well at the GSPCA and we have had some fantastic donations but with all the rough seas recently our big delivery of fish is yet to arrive and we are appealing for help.”
“The weather has always stopped us from releasing Marty the seal pup from Jersey who is now ready to go back to the wild when there is a break in the weather.”
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We order the fish in bulk as each seal pup eats 20 to 30 mackerel or herring a day but with the stormy weather we have had its been difficult to get fresh fish.”
“We are appealing for help and if anyone has fish caught in the last three months they can donate we would love to hear from them.”
