Steve Byrne and Ben Lowndes at 3pm took part with this mini triathlon raising funds supporting our #GSPCACoronavirusCrisisAppeal
Now, more than ever, the GSPCA needs your support. The Hel(l)vetia Challenge was an excellent opportunity to raise funds, whilst having fun and raising team spirits as we exit lockdown.
Ben and Steve have raised just over £400 and a huge thanks to all that donated and well done to them for taking part.
For those who haven’t taken part in the Challenge before, the spirit of the Hel(l)vetia Challenge is to be accessible to as broad a range of participants as possible (from light joggers to keen triathletes). Participants do not need to take part in all three legs (swim, cycle, run) but can choose to share laps with team mates, rather than do all three.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Ben and I took part in the Hellvetia Challenge last month and you can still donate and support our #GSPCACoronavirusCrisisAppeal by going to https://giving.gg/donate/event/6908/Sponsor-the-GSPCA-team-doing-the-Hellvetia-Challenge or call 01481 257261.”
“It took place outside the Credit Suisse offices and wit was lovely to see a great crowd cheer everyone on.”
“It was great fun and from cycling up the Val de Terres to the run it was great to see so many teams take part and the finished sweaty folk including ourselves at the end.”
Ben Lowndes said “It was good fun and I’m hoping to do it again next year for the GSPCA.”
“The cycle was really hard but it was good to raise so much for the GSPCA and the animals.”
Steve continued “Coronavirus has impacted us all and raising the funds to run the GSPCA is incredibly hard and without public support we couldn’t care for the 1000’s of animals at the Shelter and provide our 24/7 service.”
“Every day is a real struggle to raise the funds to run the GSPCA during these difficult days.”
“Another great way supporting our work is to become a regular sponsor and to find out details please visit this web page http://www.gspca.org.gg/sites/default/files/Angel%20sponsor%20form%20special%202018%20new.pdf .”
