Only a week since the GSPCA Amazon Wish List was launched and the Shelter staff and volunteers have been in awe of all of the gifts purchased for the animals and their care.
A HUGE thank you must go to Corporate Risk Solutions, staff from Menzies Aviation, staff from the Heritage Group and also Sandra and Ken James.
These individuals have helped the Shelter purchase additional scales which are vital for weighing animals on entry and during their stay as well as many animal toys and feed for the hundreds in the GSPCA care.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'We have already had over £500's worth of donations in terms of equipment, toys and feed.' 'We have now started adding other items from websites so everyone can see exactly what the Shelter needs to carry out our vital animal welfare work in Guernsey.' 'We have also been sharing the wonderful idea with other charities and Sarah Griffiths has set up a page for Bridge 2 Haiti and Sri Lanka.'
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said 'It's fantastic! From dog toys to meal worms, honey for the hedgehogs to these wonderful scales its all things that we need and we are all so grateful to everyone that has helped.'
It costs over £500,000 a year to run the GSPCA and this is one way that you can help animals in Guernsey and with Christmas only 49 days away a wonderful way to gift something to an animal for Christmas Day.
The GSPCA are always looking to find new and replacing old equipment to help with the many animals at the Shelter. To see our Amazon Wish List and some of the equipment and feed we need via this web site please click here
