Last Thursday we greeted 25 new volunteers who packed the Shelter in St Andrews.
The volunteer induction was given by GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne which started just after 6.30pm.
The new volunteers sat in an area with two snakes in need of a home and the group found out about the work of the GSPCA, how they could help and an induction on working safely.
A pack was handed to each and also a certificate of attendance and thanks.
After the talk which took just over an hour each of the interested volunteers had the opportunity to have a chat with the GSPCA Manager and set a date to start.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "This is the fourth induction of 2016 and we hold regular volunteer inductions so that those wanting to help us at the GSPCA can find out what they can do and start off knowing the rules and how to work safely at the Shelter."
"Once again it was a lovely evening and we had great feed back from those attending saying they had enjoyed it and were looking forward starting."
"Of the 25 who set a date to start volunteering 4 were wanting to start experience for their Duke of Edinburgh and 1 is coming to do her work experience."
"Many came after meeting us at the Careers Show last week."
"All are starting over the next two weeks, with 5 already started and we look forward getting all involved."
"The next volunteer induction is on Tuesday 3rd May at 6.30pm and we have a full year of dates set on our web site."
"Thank you to all that came and we look forward getting you started in the many roles around the GSPCA."
