On Friday 7 volunteers from the Aon Insurance Managers (Guernsey) Limited (Aon) spent the day helping at the GSPCA Animal Shelter in Guernsey.
From the GSPCA and all of our team we would like to thank the Aon staff for all of their help.
Louise Coxon, Ben Kirk, Nicola Koyupinar, Harriet Walden, Caitlin Butler, Emma Le Huray and Vicky Tailby arrived on Friday at 9am where they had a short induction over a coffee with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne before a quick picture in their lovely clean Aon t-shirts at the front of the Shelter then got stuck in around site helping with the hundreds of animals at the GSPCA.
From walking dogs to washing dishes, scrubbing out pools to feeding baby birds the group were split between the staff and volunteers at the GSPCA and helped around the site.
After a day of hard and helping behind the scenes the group were given a guided tour of the Shelter and were told about the work that goes on 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We are hugely grateful to the team from Aon who helped us at the GSPCA on Friday."
"It was great to meet the 7 staff from Aon and everyone said that they had a great day and really enjoyed themselves although getting rather wet with the very damp day we had."
"Every week well over 70 volunteers help out at the GSPCA ensuring we care for the hundreds of animals at the Shelter and we love it when companies ask and send their staff to help out as it means we can do even more for those in our care."
"Thank you Louise Coxon, Ben Kirk, Nicola Koyupinar, Harriet Walden, Caitlin Butler, Emma Le Huray and Vicky Tailby from Aon for all of your help on Friday."
"On Monday 6th July at 6.30pm we have our next volunteer induction evening and if you are interested in helping us please do come along to find out more."
