BBQ & Bubble Charity Shop relaunch a lovely evening - GSPCA Charity Shop now open 7 days a week with refreshments on sale

Last Tuesday from 4pm the GSPCA held a BBQ & Bubbles evening in the sunshine all free of charge to celebrate the reopening of our onsite charity shop.
The shop which is open 7 days a week now has a new floor and look and is staffed 7 days a week and if you would like to help volunteer we have an induction evening at 630pm on Tuesday 11th July and others set later this month.
The evening took place sitting on tables and chairs over looking the cats in for homes and right next to the Charity Shop meaning we have one of the few charity shops that looks directly on to where your funds are helping.
Dozens of visitors arrived through the evening from our neighbours who were invited to a number of animal charities from across the UK from the Dogs Trust to Blue Cross, Cats Protection and even Rick from Medimark who had helped provide the RHVD2 rabbit training.
Friends, family, volunteers and staff from the GSPCA popped along and a wonderful evening was had by all thanks to Shop Supervisor Michelle Champion helped by her team Val, Emma and Hannah.
A vegi BBQ was on hand to feed the many visitors and shoppers who enjoyed a look around the Charity Shop with a glass of fizz or soft drink.
The UK charities also got a good look on their first night in Guernsey ahead of meetings held on island last week.
Michelle Champion GSPCA Charity Shop Supervisor said “Thank you to everyone that came along and helped last week at the special Charity Shop event we help last week at the GSPCA.”
“Hannah, Emma and I with help from the Work to Benefit team have been getting the Charity Shop together with a new improve look to help the much needed funds to help the many animals at the Shelter.”
“We all had a lovely night and now have hot drinks, snacks, sandwiches and refreshments on sale at the GSPCA Charity Shop so please pop in for a look around and enjoy sitting next to the cats looking for homes.”
“The shop is open 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 4pm on a Sunday and for an extra donation of £2 a person you can visit many of the animal areas at the GSPCA.”
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “A huge thank you to Michelle for a lovely open evening at the GSPCA Charity Shop last Tuesday and to Hannah, Emma and Val who helped along with all that visited.”
“The sun was shining and the Charity Shop looks fantastic and there are so many bargains to be had 7 days a week to help the 450+ animals in our care.”
“We are looking for volunteers to help in the shop and have a volunteer induction evening tomorrow night at 630pm for any that would like to attend.”
Pam Fox came along to the evening said “The shop looks lovely and thank you so much for the scrumptious food.”
