On Sunday the GSPCA welcomed 7 local dog owners and individuals interested in learning how to help save dogs lives.
The training session started at 9.30am where Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager talked to the group about basic first aid for dogs and what to do in the event of an emergency.
The sessions take around 2 hours and cover what to do from seizures to CPR.
Tia one of the dogs in for a home made an appearance and the group were also shown some of the kennels at the GSPCA.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "At the GSPCA we feel education is a vital part of our work and by passing on knowledge can help improve and with our first aid training help save animals lives."
"We have cat and dog first aid courses planned in November and later this month there are sessions so you can learn about Adaptil and Feliway products."
"Also in May we are looking to hold another Animal Bereavement Training session."
"Thank you to all that attended on Sunday and the donation each gave of £15 will help the many animals in our care and we hope that everyone both enjoyed and learnt about how to give dogs first aid."
