Would you like to see some of the 500 animals at the GSPCA during half term?
Sadly we aren’t running guided tours during #GSPCAPurpleWeek but next week during half term from Monday 19th February we have a tour at 2pm each day until Friday 23rd February.
This is your opportunity to visit behind the scenes at our Animal Shelter where we have been based for 89 years in St Andrews and gives you the chance to see the work being carried out.
We ask for a minimum donation of £7 per person and £5 per child, or £20 for a family of four or £18 with an Islands Mum card.
The tours take around 60 to 90 minutes and you get to see in many of the departments, interact with some of the friendly residents and see a wide variety of species.
Some of the recent developments you will see are our Poison Garden, Memorial Garden, Charity Shop, Pond, Picnic area, the Guernsey Beekeepers hives and much more…..
Tours are a maximum of 20 people per tour, so please book early.
Some of the animals you will have the chance to see will be cats, rabbits, birds, hedgehogs, dogs looking for homes and some of the other wildlife.
If you would like a certificate as a gift then please do get in touch for more details.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We have had a busy GSPCA Purple Week celebrating 145 years and next week during half term we have more to do as we host guided tours each day.”
“Unfortunately due to the birthday tours there aren’t any weekend tours but from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd February at 2pm each day we will be taking groups of visitors around the GSPCA to see behind the scenes.”
“From 80+ hedgehogs to nearly 30 guinea pigs, over 150 birds to fish, turtles to lizards, snakes to rats, dogs to cats, rabbits to ferrets as well as our Charity Shop, Poison Garden, Picnic area and more there is something around every corner and in our 15 buildings to see and learn about.”
“145 years we have been helping animals in Guernsey and we have been on our current site for 89 years so we have a rich history and lots of stories to tell as we go around.”
“You need to book your place early as spaces are limited and the best way to book is by calling 257261 or pop in when you are passing.”
“We also carry out special tours for birthdays and special occasions and if you are interested please do get in touch as we have many already booked in for the coming weeks with 5 this weekend.”
