Last week The Little Cottage Daycare pre-school visited the GSPCA for a behind the scenes tour with Tim Pellet the GSPCA Community and Training Officer.
Tim said “Last week we were delighted to show around the Little Cottage Daycare pre-school group."
“We were able to show them around several departments where they met Honey the Hedgehog, Lindt & Hugo the lop eared rabbits, the seals, peeked at the razor bill, said hello to Sam the Tortoise and stroked Nellie the Bearded Dragon!”
“They visited Bunny Hop Hill and saw the Memorial Garden too.”
“They were kind enough to have brought several kind donations of food in and made a card to thank us all for their morning out.”
Sammy Martin from The Little Cottage Daycare said “On behalf of the children and 2 members of staff that attended the GSPCA for a great mini tour last Wednesday, I’d like to say a huge thank you!”
“The children were that excited they didn’t stop talking about it for the rest of the day, and speaking to some parents, some of the children were still bringing it up at the breakfast table the next day!”
“Tim is an absolute credit to you, and the GSPCA.”
“The information he gave was so detailed and useful, he was so calm and patient with the children it made everyone feel so comfortable!”
“He really knew what he was talking about, and made it his best effort to get all of the children involved with the animals and talking.”
“They honestly loved visiting! Just by listening to him speak about the various animals and with such great detail, we could tell he really does care about the GSPCA and it’s so nice to meet someone so passionate about what they do!”
“We can’t wait to book in again for another tour as we know another small group would love, and really benefit from it!”
“Thank you so much again.”
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “The team at the GSPCA really love to show visitors and groups the amazing work that goes on 24/7, and what wonderful feedback we had from Sammy at The Little Cottage Daycare.”
“Some areas of the Shelter are open to the public 7 days a week 11am to 4pm for a donation, we run tours during the holidays and also do group tours for education trips and for birthdays and special occasions, just check our website or get in touch for details.”
“A huge thank you to all of the children for their very kind donations and for being very well behaved and interested in all that we do at the GSPCA.”
