Last night the GSPCA held the fourth bingo night of 2015 at the Market Bistro.
To help celebrate Superhero Day, it was held with a Superhero theme with Batman calling out the numbers.
Every winner received fun themed prize as well as other goodies and cash.
The event was held in the Inner Market Building where tables of all sizes were set up for those attending.
Superhero posters decorated the room, as well as information and posters of the work of the GSPCA on the tables and animals in need of homes.
Each table was named after an animal that the GSPCA has either recently helped or in the care of the Shelter, many of which are in need of new homes.
A total of 8 games of bingo were played with lots of other games and raffles. Half way through the evening the team at the Market Bistro served a lovely buffet and for the first time we held an open the box which was hugely successful. 90 tickets were sold and the bingo machine was used to draw the tickets that allowed the winner to come up and choose a key to try the door. Number after number was called until on the 8th attempt at choosing the key a winner was found who kindly donated the money back to the GSPCA to help the many animals in our care.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager and event organisor said "We had a fabulous Superhero Day Bingo fund raiser for the GSPCA at the Market Bistro last night."
"We had Superhero posters decorating the room to help celebrate and lots of face masks and other items for winners to wear and take home."
"We held our first open the door box 13 using numbers 1 to 90 as raffle tickets which half the proceeds taken went into the box and the other half to towards our work at the GSPCA and after 8 attempts of drawing a key the lovely Sylvia won the $30 jackpot and donated back to towards caring for the many animals in our care."
"There were prizes for the first line and house of each of the games and the winner of the final game won a jackpot of £25 cash and lots of other prizes."
"We have bingo nights planned each month at the Market Bistro with the next one having a Cowboy and Indian theme to celebrate John Wayne's birthday on Tuesday 26th May and please call 257261 or book your tickets through our website."
"For only £14.50 for adults you get 8 games of bingo and your meal which is a buffet style half way through the evening."
