On Sunday 100’s of islanders celebrated the end of lockdown for the whole Bailiwick, and the #guernseytogether spirit.
On Sunday there was a FREE family friendly event (with donations to charity) to showcase what an array of fantastic talent and produce we have in Guernsey.
The organisers kindly supported a number of local charities including the GSPCA and it was lovely to see everyone at Government House.
The GSPCA was there with our stall promoting our work and raising much needed funds. An amazing £880 was raised and a lot of fun was had.
This year’s Hel(l)vetia Challenge will be held on 27th August and the GSPCA really need your support by donating to

With less than a month to go the GSPCA are busy preparing for the ninth Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday.
In recent years we have seen just over 100 stalls at our biggest event of the year but with 100 already booked in it looks like it will be the BIGGEST yet.
We would be delighted if any other stalls or buskers would like to join us to help celebrate animals in Guernsey.
Anyone interested in the Strategy for Nature there is currently a display at Beau Sejour and tomorrow between 5pm and 830pm they will also be staff on hand to answer any questions.

We are so incredibly grateful to all those that raise funds for the many animals in our care.
Here are a few words from one of our team members at the GSPCA who is running to help with new rabbit accommodation at the GSPCA.
Charlotte Perry said “At the GSPCA we haven't been able to focus on replacing our hutches, with the issues surrounding Covid-19 being a priority.”
“However, with the increase of rabbits, it means we need more hutches to accommodate the influx.”
Can your team take the trophy off the Plough Inn?
Once again we will be holding a Giant Animal Mascot event as part of our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday celebrations.
This is open to mascots and individuals prepared to dress as an animal and play a fun football game with a rather over sized ball.
We are asking businesses, pubs, individuals or anyone as a team of 5 or an individual and we can make extra teams on the day.
Don't worry about what to wear we will provide the Giant Animal Mascot suit and have over 70 available to choose from.
The FREE event that took place on Saturday was an incredible day packed with 100’s of visitors through the day enjoying the sunshine and everything for the family to do from the live music to the bouncy castles.
The GSPCA were once again present raising much needed funds and we cannot thank all involved enough.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “A huge thanks to Corinne and Cathy for running our stall at the Le Friquet Family Fun Day on Saturday.”
“It was an amazing day with fantastic weather and Cathy and Corinne didn’t stop.”
The GSPCA would like to say a huge thanks to all that supported our stall and to the fantastic volunteers who manned what was a very busy day.
The day had a theme of Guernsey Together – A celebration of community and kindness within the Arts and what an incredible day it was
With the most difficult year in living memory at the GSPCA the Arts Sunday gave a great opportunity to raise much needed funds and promote our work.
Beckie Bailey GSPCA team member said “We had great fun on Sunday and raised over £1000.”
