Rollo, the stunning 18 month old Briard, took to the high seas at the end of January having found a wonderful new home with a fantastic family in Jersey.
Accompanied by Welfare and Education Officer, Emma Trousdale, Rollo took the short ferry journey in his stride and arrived no doubt excited about his new life with a fellow Briard called Poppy.
With winter and cold weather with us and potential snow on the way the GSPCA want pet owners and the public to consider all the animals of Guernsey. During a cold snap the GSPCA are on full alert, ready to deal with a variety of animals affected by the cold weather.
But you can also do your bit to prevent animals suffering over the cold period.
DO you have a pond?
Every year the GSPCA have to deal with animals after the Christmas period that become discarded or unwanted after being given as gifts on Christmas Day.
With only a few days until Christmas the GSPCA are asking people not to rush out and get a pet for a Christmas present even if its on Santas list. Instead we ask that the family or household think seriously and if you are looking to bring a new pet into the home then leave it until after the festive period when households return to normal and it is less stressful for a new pet in a new home.
