Last Wednesday and Thursday we took the GSPCA stall along to the North Show.
On Wednesday morning the weather challenged the team but despite high winds and rain after 4 hours we were set up and ready to raise funds for the animals at the Shelter.
The North Show is one of the main events in Guernsey's summer calendar, and takes place in the wonderful rural setting of Saumarez Park.
The Guernsey North Show and Battle of Flowers is run by the Northern Agricultural and Horticultural Society and the GSPCA are very grateful to them for allowing us to come along.
Our next Volunteer Induction Evenings at the GSPCA are on Wednesday 9th and 30th September at 6.30pm.
All ages are welcome, but to help on site with the animals you have to be 14 years old or over.
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal care Assistant said "We have a wonderful team of volunteers that help us at the GSPCA and we always love to welcome those wanting to help."
"From gardening to answering the phone there is a job to help in many different ways on and off the Animal Shelter."
This Sunday we will be on the Crown Pier with a stall to raise fund for animals in Guernsey at The 2015 Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management Guernsey Marathon & Relay Races
We set up from 8am and the stall opens arounds 10am.
We look forward seeing you there and thank the organisors for allowing us to join them

This year we have had to split our flag day into three so we can collect in the many locations in Guernsey.
Earlier this year on the first of the three days we collected over £1200 at the two Waitrose stores and this Saturday we had another successful day collecting in many locations around our lovely island.
We do not yet have a final total (to be confirmed), but from all of the hundreds of animals at the GSPCA a huge thank you to one and all that helped collect and also to the many that donated from all corners of Guernsey.
This Wednesday and Thursday why not pop by and see our stall at the North Show.
The North Show is one of the main events in Guernsey's summer calendar, and takes place in the wonderful rural setting of Saumarez Park.
The Guernsey North Show and Guernsey Battle of Flowers, is held in August each year and this year it takes place on 26th and 27th August.
The Guernsey North Show and Battle of Flowers is run by the Northern Agricultural and Horticultural Society and the GSPCA are very grateful to them for allowing us to come along.
We would like to thank the Lions Club of Guernsey and all involved for another well run and great Donkey Derby.
GSPCA staff and volunteers Steve Byrne, Hayley James, Joseph Fox and Ellie Fox spent Saturday afternoon in Saumarez Park raising funds for the animals in Guernsey.
The stall was set up in the sunshine and the weather managed to hold for the afternoon where we raised in excess of £500.
We would like to thank everyone involved, helped and supported what was a lovely afternoon.
On Wednesday and Thursday once again we went west ot enjoy and run a stall at the fantastic West Show.
Although a little wet on the Wednesday a team of volunteers and staff helped man the GSPCA stall to raise funds and promote the work of the Animal Shelter.
Lorna Prince, Steve Byrne, Reece Gilman, Duncan Cumming, Jo Fox, Joseph Fox, Ellie Fox, Yvonne Chauvel, Kevin Beausire and Helen Holmes helped run the stall over the 2 days and we are hugely grateful to the hundreds, if not thousands of visitors that popped by to support us.
For the fourth year in a row the GSPCA are attending the West Show this week.
If you would like to help volunteer of support us we would love to see you on our stall.
Once again our stall will be full of great games, GSPCA goods and pet products.
Every year we have a great time enjoying a wonderful local event whilst raising funds on our stall to help the many animals in our care.
