During the school breaks we are running a series of guided tours at the GSPCA.
Next week is your opportunity to visit behind the scenes at our Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
We are arranging guided tours on a series of dates at 2pm.
We ask for a minimum donation of £5 per person and £3 per child, or £15 for a family of four.
The tours take around 80 minutes and you get to see in many of the departments and a variety of species.
Tours are a maximum of 15 people per tour, so please book early.
Greenman MCC are holding a charity bike night tonight for the GSPCA in honour of Bryony Le Tissier between 7-9pm.
Earlier this year the Greenman MCC donated a lovely bench in memory of Bryony Le Tissier who loved animals and is located at the GSPCA over looking the pond at the Shelter.
It takes place in front of the Whiterock Cafe.
These evenings are very relaxed and social events with bikers having a brew and chatting.
All are welcome and the GSPCA would like to thank all that are supporting in advance of the event.
Giant Animal Mascot It's a Knock Out for the GSPCA
Once again we will be holding a Giant Animal Mascot Race but this year there are a few twists.
This is open to mascots and individuals prepared to dress as an animal.
We are asking businesses, pubs, individuals or anyone as a team of 4 or an individual.
Don't worry about what to wear we will provide the Giant Animal Mascot suit and have over 70 available.
Once again on Sunday at the GSPCA we joined the Taste Guernsey Seafront Sunday with a stall to raise funds for the animals in Guernsey.
It was the third Taste Guernsey Seafront Sunday and the fifth of 2015.
We set up at 8am just outside Marks and Spencers and before the day could even start the road was full of tourists off the cruise liners and locals enjoying the lovely weather and the many stalls and entertainment.
We had many visitors playing the games on offer and many purchasing local Guernsey goods from fudge to GSPCA hoodies and hats.
At the GSPCA during the term holidays we run guided tours, but on Thursday we ran an exclusive surprise experience planned by a very loving husband.
A number of weeks ago, in secret Art Allen had been in touch with the GSPCA to arrange a surprise for his wife who was celebrating a milestone birthday and taking retirement from full time work.
Mid morning on Thursday Art Allen arrived at the GSPCA with his wife Jean who had no idea why she had come to the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
If you're out and about why not pop by the Taste of Guernsey Seafront Sunday tomorrow.
We will be setting up from 8am for a 10am start and it is their third Seafront Sunday of 2015 and the fifth of the year.
Once again we will be just outside Marks and Spencer with all of our fun games and tombolas.
The GSPCA have a stall at every Seafront Sunday this year and don't forget our BIG DAY on September 13th.
This weekend why not pop to Torteval and support their annual Parish event which draws thousands every year.
With nearly 50 entries the event has been a buzz all morning with hundreds already enjoying the excellent event.
This year thanks to a GSPCA Torteval volunteer and Mr McIntyre the Animal Shelter has entered its first ever entry.
A GSPCA team went down earlier today to set up our entry 'Jessie Beagle You've Been Caged' and watch out as you're on camera.
On Friday the GSPCA and Guernsey Cheshire Home had a very special and fun night at the St Pierre Park Hotel.
Sidney's Sponsored Events held a Grease themed night to raise funds for the two local charities.
T-birds and Pink Ladies started arriving just after 6pm and soon the main bar was like a scene from Grease.
Once again the GSPCA have teamed up with the WEA to provide a course in animal care.
The new course is an 'Introduction to Animal Care and Welfare' and gives a taste of working in the many different departments at the GSPCA whilst learning about animal care, behaviour and a hands on experience.
The course is a 2 day workshop and for those taking part we would kindly ask that you have a basic knowledge in animal care.
