Spooky Halloween Sponsored Fancy Dress Dog Walk at Saumarez Park Sunday 1st November 5pm - £100 top dressed prize

The GSPCA are holding their first ever Spooky Halloween Sponsored Fancy Dress Dog Walk at Saumarez Park.

It will take place on Sunday 1st November 2015 meeting at the Saumarez Park Tea Rooms, Saumarez Park.

The Spooky Halloween Fancy Dress Sponsored Dog Walk in aid of the GSPCA is asking all witches, ghosts, monsters and ghouls to arrive from 5pm for a 5.30pm stroll around the park in the dark.

All money raised will help animal like the two young kittens recently rescued to the 25 Slovakian puppies.

Volunteer Induction Wednesday 14th October at 6.30pm

Our next Volunteer Induction Evening at the GSPCA is on Wednesday 14th October at 6.30pm.

All ages are welcome, but to help on site with the animals you have to be 14 years old or over.

Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal care Assistant said "We have a wonderful team of volunteers that help us at the GSPCA and we always love to welcome those wanting to help."

"From gardening to answering the phone there is a job to help in many different ways on and off the Animal Shelter."

A World Cup Rugby team of new faces wanting to help volunteer at the GSPCA

Last night we welcomed enough new faces to the GSPCA to set up a rugby team with reserves.

With 20 attending and 12 all signed up with a date to start volunteering at the GSPCA and others to be confirmed we have already started the first three this morning.

The new volunteers during their induction learnt about the work of the Shelter and how to become involved with our 24 hour 7 day a week work.

This morning Phil, Jane and Lili have already experienced cleaning out and caring for the many animals at the Shelter with many others starting over the next few days.

Guided Tours at the GSPCA in the October Half Term Break

During the school breaks we are running a series of guided tours at the GSPCA.

This is your opportunity to visit behind the scenes at our Animal Shelter in St Andrews and see the work being carried out for the new build.

We are arranging guided tours on a series of dates at 2pm.  

We ask for a minimum donation of £5 per person and £3 per child, or £15 for a family of four.  

The tours take around 80 minutes and you get to see in many of the departments and a variety of species.

Tours are a maximum of 15 people per tour, so please book early.

See our stall at the Taste Guernsey Seafront Sunday this weekend

This weekend we will be attending the last Seafront Sunday of 2015.

This year we have had a stall at each of the Seafront Sundays and this weekend we will have a stall at the Taste Seafront Sunday.

We set up from 8am near the Town Church end of the seafront and if you can help volunteer we would love to hear from you.

Pet Bereavement Training for Bailiwick Pet Professionals, Volunteers and anyone interested Tuesday 29th September

Once again the GSPCA and Guernsey Bereavement Service are teaming to provide a training session in Pet Bereavement for those working or volunteering in the animal care industry in the Bailiwick of Guernsey or anyone that is interested in coming along.

The aim of the evening is to educate the many volunteers and staff across the Bailiwick help those pet owners with the loss of their beloved pet.

Zoe Le Pelley from the Guernsey Bereavement Service will lead the talk on the following subjects:

The last Sunday in August we joined the Guernsey Cheshire Home on the Crown Pier for The 2015 Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management Guernsey Marathon & Relay Races

A wonderful Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday - thank you to all involved and supported

On Sunday the GSPCA held the fourth ever Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday in St Peter Port.

Each year since 2012 the team at the Animal Shelter work extremely hard to put on a day to celebrate animals in Guernsey.

Once again thousands of visitors and locals enjoyed what was a wonderful day packed with things to see and do.

Stall holders and the GSPCA team arrived during the early hours of Sunday to set up ready for the first event which was the fantastic Battle of Britain Parade which takes place along the seafront just after 940am.

Roary the GFC Lion & Daniel the Island FM Donkey join Bernard the GSPCA Mascot in the Giant Animal Race this Sunday - Could you?

This Sunday we are pleased to announce Daniel the Donkey from Island FM and Roary the Lion from Guernsey FC will be attending and taking part in the Giant Animal Mascot Race.

Joining them will be individuals from Crabby Jacks, KPMG, Travel Corporation, Greenman MCC, Sark Shipping and others and its not too late.
