On Friday the GSPCA received the largest ever resident in memory of the team.
At 17 hands and 15 years of age the Dutch Warmblood horse called Robbie is settling well at the Shelter, although staff have found out he's bit of a wimp.
Anna Paint Senior Animal Care Assistant said 'Robbie is settling well at the Shelter but he is a real wuss!'
'At 17 hands he is a big lad, but thankfully we have a stable and fields at the GSPCA.'

Last night we held our second volunteer evening od 2014 and once again we overwhelmed with the fantastic turn out.
With 28 new faces popping along to find out about volunteering at the GSPCA Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager and Sarah Ozanne Animal Care Assistant were on hand.
After a presentation on the GSPCA, handouts, a few forms and learning hot to work safely at the Shelter by Steve Byrne, Sarah then sat down with each person interested in helping at the Shelter.
Yesterday Spike Productions invited the GSPCA to the OSA Recruitment Pop Up Shop where they were offering their services to the Animal Shelter and other charities to produce short powerful and engaging videos.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager popped down to their set up at the OSA Recruitment Pop Up Shop where Warren Mauger and Daniel d'Avoine from Spike Productions were all set up and very welcoming.

In April 2014 Daz Carre will be running the Marathon Des Sables, a 155 mile run through the Sahara Desert which takes place in 100 degree temperatures. This is pretty extreme.
He'll be doing this for the Specsavers Children's Charity and the GSPCA and The Tav has decided to help him out in his fund raising efforts by throwing a party for him - after all, we might not see him again!
Last Winter the GSPCA received large number of calls from concerned members of public about horses and other animals in wet and muddy fields and once again we are preparing for a similar season with the current weather conditions.
Unfortunately due to the very wet Winter we had to endure here in Guernsey last year the GSPCA had a number of animals that were reported to the GSPCA in concerning conditions.
Lorna Prince GSPCA Animal Welfare Manager said ‘With such a wet Winter last year many animals were affected, both wild and domestic.’
