Yesterday a very timid dog called Phoebe was lost near Key Price.
Phoebe is a white and brown shih tzu who went missing when out on a walk yesterday.
The owners have been out all hours in search of their lost dog and have asked us to share her details in case you see her.
Phoebe is very shy so unlikely to approach strangers.
Sightings of Phoebe have been between L'Ancresse and Beaucette Marina.
If you spot her we are asking if you call us here at the GSPCA on 01481 257261.
Over the last few months a fantastic team from CEPS have been helping out at the GSPCA with a number of projects.
In 2004, the Social Security Department introduced the Community & Environmental Projects Scheme (CEPS). CEPS provides temporary work and training opportunities for people who are not working due to unemployment or long-term illness. CEPS is managed on behalf of the Social Security Department by States Works and project work is selected with training opportunities in mind so that people learn new skills.
We overjoyed to report that Catrina is now at the GSPCA after over a month at Isabelle Vets.
Catrina was found on a wet, cold, dark evening 5 weeks ago after being hit by a car and has needed intensive care at the vets.
Sadly with no microchip and no owner this loving, affectionate and sweet cat has been cared for by the team at Isabelle Vets and the GSPCA.
Catrina needed an extensive operation and her veterinary treatment continues as she has a number of health issues but she is improving on a daily basis.
Currently a very shy dog is loose around the Ladies Bay area.
Molly a 7 year old black and tan cross breed went missing when out on a walk Tuesday morning.
The owners have been out day and night in search of Molly and have asked us to share her details in case you see her.
Molly has recently had a groom and trim and is wearing a red collar with cream paw prints with a tag with the owners details.
Molly is a rescue dog and very shy so unlikely to approach strangers.
With all of the conservation work going on at the GSPCA and planting thanks to St Andrews Floral Group we have to stop and think of the plants that can put our pets at risk.
This thought and after a recent BBC Guernsey interview has prompted the GSPCA and St Andrews Floral Group into putting together a garden display to help pet owners.
Last month GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne met a lovely young man called Oscar Martin who had just turned 6 years of age.
Oscar who goes to Acorn House decided for his sixth birthday he would donate half of his birthday money to help the animals at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
Oscars favourite animals are kittens (at the moment) and when he came to make his very kind donation last month he got a behind the scenes guided tour to see the many animals and even some of the young cats at the GSPCA.
The GSPCA would like to say a huge thank you to Special Branch for their very kind donation of wood chip to the GSPCA today.
Wood chip is used around the Animal Shelter for path ways and animal pens and with many of our enclosures extremely full the need has been more so this Spring than in previous years.
Lorna Prince GSPCA Welfare Manager said "Thank you to Simon and Special Branch for the very kind donation of wood chip today."
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "It was so very kind of Special Branch to donate a fantastic load of wood chip that we can use around site."
Last week on the 1st March a stray cockerel was rescued near the reservoir.
The bird was found with a head injury and collected by Animal Collection Officer Geoff George and is being cared for at the GSPCA.
Geoff George Animal Collection Officer said "We rescued the bird on the 1st March and are appealing for an owner to come forward."
"Despite his head injury he is doing well and if anyone is missing any animal in Guernsey please do call us on 257261."
This public consultation by the States of Guernsey is part of the Charitable Giving Review being led by the Policy & Resources Committee in partnership with the Association of Guernsey Charities and the Guernsey Community Foundation.
The purpose of this consultation is to understand the community's views on:
