On Wednesday and Thursday once again we went west ot enjoy and run a stall at the fantastic West Show.
Although a little wet on the Wednesday a team of volunteers and staff helped man the GSPCA stall to raise funds and promote the work of the Animal Shelter.
Lorna Prince, Steve Byrne, Reece Gilman, Duncan Cumming, Jo Fox, Joseph Fox, Ellie Fox, Yvonne Chauvel, Kevin Beausire and Helen Holmes helped run the stall over the 2 days and we are hugely grateful to the hundreds, if not thousands of visitors that popped by to support us.
For the fourth year in a row the GSPCA are attending the West Show this week.
If you would like to help volunteer of support us we would love to see you on our stall.
Once again our stall will be full of great games, GSPCA goods and pet products.
Every year we have a great time enjoying a wonderful local event whilst raising funds on our stall to help the many animals in our care.
More about the West Show -
During the school breaks we are running a series of guided tours at the GSPCA.
Next week is your opportunity to visit behind the scenes at our Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
We are arranging guided tours on a series of dates at 2pm.
We ask for a minimum donation of £5 per person and £3 per child, or £15 for a family of four.
The tours take around 80 minutes and you get to see in many of the departments and a variety of species.
Tours are a maximum of 15 people per tour, so please book early.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Sandra Bishop who kindly donated a number of items to help us in our new multi purpose animal welfare building.
Yesterday we received a package at the Shelter and when opened it contained a number of window squeeges and a tay scratcher toy.
We are very excited to be moving into our new Multi Purpose Animal Welfare Building and we now need to kit the facility out with equipment and items to help care for the animals that will be housed within the facility.
Greenman MCC are holding a charity bike night tonight for the GSPCA in honour of Bryony Le Tissier between 7-9pm.
Earlier this year the Greenman MCC donated a lovely bench in memory of Bryony Le Tissier who loved animals and is located at the GSPCA over looking the pond at the Shelter.
It takes place in front of the Whiterock Cafe.
These evenings are very relaxed and social events with bikers having a brew and chatting.
All are welcome and the GSPCA would like to thank all that are supporting in advance of the event.
Yesterday at the GSPCA we welcomed our second group of Voluntourists of 2015.
9 holiday makers from the Crystal Serenity spent much of Tuesday learning about and helping animals in Guernsey.
This is the second year we are offering a Volutourist day at the Shelter with Crystal Cruises and all of the group left the GSPCA smiling having had an enjoyable although rather damp time.
