On the 21st July the GSPCA were called out to the Dragon Chinese Takeaway on the Bridge as they had found a stray snake.
The corn snake was in good health and transported to the GSPCA where we made it comfortable in one of our vivarium’s and put an appeal out for an owner.
That day we found the owner and later that evening they were reunited.
Geoff George GSPCA Animal Collection Officer said “On the afternoon of Thursday 21st July was called out to rescue a stray snake in St Sampsons.”
At the GSPCA we are extremely busy and we are currently looking for new volunteers to join the team and recruiting new staff.

Yesterday the GSPCA were called out to a car park near the back of the airport.
The call was originally for a toad but when we arrived we were faced with a large black lizard.
After a little confusion of what species the lizard was it was cleared up by the owner who had been looking for their missing lizard for over 6 weeks.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “There was a little confusion over the species of the stray lizard we had in yesterday, but thankfully the owner came forward.”
“The lovely black lizard is a chuckwalla and had been missing for 6 weeks.”
Today the GSPCA were called to the car park next to Guernsey Airport for a very unusual stray.
We were called about a possible toad and on arrival GSPCA team member was faced with a very different animal.
Neil Hughes GSPCA team member said “Just after 11am we were called out to Guernsey Airport.”
“The call was to go and help a poorly toad but when I got there it wasn’t a toad at all but a very black water dragon.”
“The lizard is now back at the GSPCA in one of our vivarium’s.”
