Yesterday at the Market Bistro and inner market Building the GSPCA and Guernsey Cheshire Home held the first Santa Paws Sponsored Dog Walk and Christmas Fayre.
With a lovely dry morning volunteers and stall holders set up from 9am getting ready for the opening at 11am.
From the Guernsey Cheshire Home cook book on sale to pet Christmas stockings, there was something for all the family and four legged friends.
Dogs started arriving before 11am sporting a lovely array of Christmas jumpers to little elf hats.
On sale at the GSPCA we have a selection of hedgehog food.
Hedgehogs often struggle to find enough food at this time of year with the temperature not low enough for them to hibernate and very few insects about.
Our reception and shop are open 9am until 5pm Monday to Saturday (to see our festive opening hours please click here)
If you would like to help us feed the hedgehogs in our care then here are a few ideas -

A Festive drink will be on offer with proceeds helping animals in Guernsey
Christmas Day Santa popped along to the Animal Shelter to ensure all of the animals had something for Christmas.
The staff working Christmas Day also made sure all the animals had a lovely day with presents and special dinners.
The staff handed out toys, chews and much more to ensure it was a special day for the fur and feathered animals in the care of the GSPCA.
The presents came from donations from kind members of public as well as those that bought the £5 gift certificates that the GSPCA sold to enable us to give the animals a toy and nice meal.
