Last night at 1am the GSPCA Night Wardens Matt Hill-Smith and Jen Bradshaw were called out to a call they weren't expecting.
The GSPCA were contacted by the police to attend the scene at the Men's Toilets at North Beach Car Park in St Peter Port to find three adult Hens perching on the lavatory surrounded by bread.
They were quickly captured by Matt and Jen who transported them to the GSPCA Animal Shelter where Annabelle Janes a member of the GSPCA Night Staff Team checked them all over and made them comfortable.
This Friday to celebrate World Animal Day please pop along to Market Square in St Peter Port to visit the GSPCA stall which will not only have a selection of goods and pet supplies on sale, but we will also have a small selection of animals in need of good homes and a display of many others in need at the Shelter.
The Shelter is currently inundated with small animals, birds, cats and dogs in need of good homes and this week we have held for the first time late night openings with the last one tonight.
The GSPCA wish to thank Maise Gontair & Megan Denning who rose £72.10p for the GSPCA at a cake sale at the Co-op in St Peter Port.
The young ladies who both go to Les Beaucamps High School popped in today to drop the funds raised and were lucky enough to meet Nancy and Albert two of the young Ferrets that were found in the road on Camp De Roi earlier this week.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'What a wonderful thing Maise and Megan did with a Cake Sale to help the Shelter and the animals in our care.'
We must thank everyone that helped, took part and supported the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday.
The day was a fantastic success with lots of family fun and enjoyment.

This morning the GSPCA had a call about a stray Snake in the St Peter Port area.
Animal Collection Officer Geoff George before he started his shift had a call to help with a rescue of a Snake.
Geoff made his way to First Tower Lane where he found the Albino Corn Snake.
He quickly secured it and it is now back at the GSPCA Animal Shelter in St Andrews, Guernsey.
Geoff George said 'The Albino Corn Snake I rescued this morning seems very well and is fine to handle.'
With only 4 weeks this Sunday to go don't forget as part of the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday there will be a fun dog show.
Last Wednesday we had our second Volunteer Induction Evening which was even more popular than the first.
With 24 in attendance and 18 wanting to sign up as volunteers the GSPCA welcomed the group into the family.
From those wanting to help muck out to those wanting to fund raise they arrived and were welcomed at the Shelter before having a presentation and talk about the work we carry out as well as an Induction to enable them to work safely at the Shelter and during our events.
On Saturday Roy Cochrane held a talk and slide show at Les Coutils about Guernsey Changes.
Over 40 tickets were sold and all enjoyed a cream tea as well as a raffle.
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant popped down from the GSPCA said 'What a lovely afternoon.'
'Roy did a great talk and we are extremely grateful to him for donating the proceeds from the day to the GSPCA.'
The Guernsey Cheshire Home & The Guernsey MS Society once again teamed up to host the 2013 Guernsey It's A Knockout on Saturday 20th July 2013 in Saumarez Park.
GSPCA Volunteers Jo Fox, Darren Monday and GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne with dogs Toby and Katie attended the fantastic event to help raise funds for the Animal Shelter.
