This month we are lucky enough to be nominated for the green token Community Matters box at the Waitrose store in Admiral Park.

By placing a token in the Community Matters box at your local branch you’re helping your community and if you choose the slot for the GSPCA helping animals in Guernsey.

The scheme across the Waitrose stores was launched in 2008 and has donated £14 million to local charities chosen by the public. At the end of your shop in branch at a Waitrose store, you’ll receive a token to place in a box of the good cause you’d most like to support.  The more tokens a cause gets, the bigger the donation they receive.

Each month every Waitrose branch donates £1,000 (£500 in Convenience shops) between 3 local good causes that you the public choose.

Last month we were nominated for the Waitrose Rohais store and we are pleased to announce £385 was raised to help the hundreds of animals in our care.

Waitrose.com also shares a donation of £25,000 between 3 national causes. After checkout, you will be asked to vote for one of the national causes they are supporting. Each cause will receive a share according to the number of votes - just as they do in their branches.

So please if you are popping in Waitrose Admiral Park support and help animals in Guernsey by popping your green token in the slot.
