Every year we hear of firework related incidents involving animals and children. While fireworks may be exciting and pretty to look at and its fun to celebrate many celebrations with a bang, we must put our safety, the safety of our pets and the local wildlife first.
Tomorrow as part of Liberation Day just after 2115hrs (915pm) at Castle Breakwater in St Peter Port there are firework displays planned so please ensure your animals are safe and prepare for the unusual sounds and sights they might be subjected too.
With a busy firework period fast approaching the GSPCA would like to remind everyone of the notifications to help those affected by the loud bangs and safety information for pet owners.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “With many firework displays confirmed already for the coming days we are reminding all pet and animal owners to do what they can to ensure they are safe, well and cared for.”
“The loud bangs and bright lights can often scare animals and we often see an increase in escaped animals during these periods.”

Saturday 22nd April from 2130hours at the Peninsula Hotel there is a private firework display planned so please ensure your animals are safe and prepare for the unusual sounds and sights they might be subjected too.

This Saturday at 815pm there are fireworks that we are aware of taking place.
These take place at a private event in the Mont Cuet Road, Vale area.

This Saturday at 10pm there are fireworks that we are aware of taking place.
These take place at the Guernsey Together event at Saumarez Park.

This Sunday there is another private firework event that we are aware of taking place.
Th event takes place at GY3 5AT at 9.30pm.

This week there are two evenings of fireworks that we are aware of taking place.
The first is on Thursday at Saumarez Park as part of the North Show at 10pm.
On Friday there is a private display taking part at 10pm at the Peninsula Hotel.
