The last 3 weeks staff and volunteers have braved the weather to sell GSPCA and pet goods in town and Oatlands during the late night shopping evenings.
Even in pouring rain they stood there from 6-9pm raising funds for the Animal Shelter. A big thank you must go to them and Bernard who helped raise nearly £1500 all of which will go towards helping animals in Guernsey.
Bernard our mascot gave out hugs and lollys whilst those helping sold everything from GSPCA mugs to cat toys, rabbit stockings to GSPCA teddies, reindeer antlers and flashing noses to chocolate bars.
This evening we had a stall at Oatlands Late Night Shopping selling all sorts of GSPCA goods as well as a lovely selection of Reindeer Antlers and Noses.
We would like to thank all that popped by and supported us, as well as the management at Oatlands for inviting us and of course the staff that volunteered and helped out.
All the money raised will go towards the welfare work that the GSPCA does and if you missed us then we will be outside Instep in St Peter Port tomorrow night with lots more goods including a wide selection of pet stocking fillers.
After a tremendous response to an appeal for bric-a-brac for our Christmas Fayre we held this weekend the GSPCA is now appealing for help to open a Charity Shop for the Animal Shelter.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager and two volunteers have been looking at premises around the island to open a shop to raise funds for the Shelter and the welfare work that we do.
All had a wonderful day at the GSPCA Animal Shelter Christmas Fayre this weekend.
Below is a video featuring some of the pictures from the day and again thank you to one and all that supported and helped. Many of the pictures can be seen on our facebook page (click here to go our facebook page and add us as a friend).
Today is our Christmas Fayre 11am – 330pm.
We would like to thank everyone for their kind donations of bric-a-brac, raffle prizes, items for the tombola and cakes so far but please pop any more in today if you get a chance.
Today we will have lots of goodies on sale for both you and your pet and no matter the weather the day will go ahead.
Santa will be there as well as a Bernard our doggie mascot who got very wet last night in town giving out lolly pops.
If the weather is kind you may well get to see one of Santas friendly donkeys.
Last night was our second of three late night shopping evenings in St Peter Port.
With a very wet and windy evening the staff and Bernard our mascot braved the elements and not only helped raise funds for the Animal Shelter but also brought smiles to lots of peoples faces by Bernard giving out lolly pops and big doggie hugs.
We would like to thank all that supported and helped and we will be out next Thursday with our stall and will also be at Oatlands late night shopping on Wednesday so please come along to support us and get your GSPCA and pet stocking fillers.
That’s right today is the official day to think about buying a calendar for yourself or a loved one.
At the Shelter we have both GSPCA desk top calendars and Guernsey Hedgehog Rescue wall calendars, so make sure you pop in and you get yours while stocks last.
Also don’t forget this Saturday 17th December we have our Christmas Fayre 11am-330pm. If you can donate any cakes or bric-a-brac or even items for the tombola or raffle please get in touch.
For only five pounds you can buy a gift certificate that will give one of the animals in our care a fantastic Christmas.
That’s right you will receive a certificate for yourself or someone you care for and that will enable us at the Shelter to give the animals in our care a very special Christmas.
We will ensure they have a present and a lovely meal and of course lots of very special hugs and cuddles, well for those domestic animals anyway as our hedgehogs and other wild animals may not want lots of hugs!!!
